CCH full form in medical term is Central Council of Homeopathy. This statutory body came into existence in 1973 through the efforts of the Indian government. This council was formed to work with other councils in India, like the University Grant Commission. CCH is controlled by the AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) ministry of India.
In the last few decades, homeopathy has been booming in India. More and more students are pursuing or want to pursue homeopathy courses. CCH was formed to not only monitor the courses for homeopathy in medical colleges and universities but also to set certain standards that an educational institute must follow. There are now dozens of homeopathy courses in India that one can opt for, and all of them are approved by CCH. If a university wants to launch its courses in the homeopathy medicine field, it must get approval from CCH before even promoting it to interested students. Before the approval, CCH conducts certain training and monitors the educational institute thoroughly. This way, the council can confirm whether the course presented by the university or college passes the national as well as international standards.
