What Is The Full Form Of MF In Medical?

MF Full Form in Medical term is Myelofibrosis. It is a malignant neoplasm of the bone marrow that interferes with blood cell production. Myeloproliferative neoplasms are a group of diseases that includes this one (MPNs). Fibrous scar tissue forms when the bone marrow’s cells are unable to develop and function normally due to these diseases.

Some cases of MF are due to another condition, typically one that affects the bone marrow, while others emerge on their own. Many different types of MPN can develop into MF. Scarring in the bone marrow might cause symptoms to worsen for some people while they remain symptom-free for others.

What else should you know about MF?

Symptoms of myelofibrosis are often overlooked at first because of the disease’s gradual onset. Its symptoms, however, may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Bone pain
  • Fever
  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite

Mutations in the genes of blood stem cells have been linked to myelofibrosis. Scientists haven’t pinpointed what triggers this mutation, though.

The mutation is spread to fresh blood cells during cell division of mutant cells. The capacity of the bone marrow to generate healthy blood cells is eventually overwhelmed by the altered cells.
