High PRL is also linked to low sex drive, infertility, menstrual problems and erectile dysfunction. Doctors may order this test if you are facing any of these symptoms. PRL is tested through blood, which needs to be taken 3 to 4 hours after waking up. Depending on the PRL levels, the doctor may order an MRI or a CT Scan.
