What Is The Full Form Of PS In Medical?

PS full form in medical term is Pulmonary Stenosis. This is a common condition caused by obstruction of blood flow from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery. The cause of this blockage is stenosis at one or more points from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery. Tightening may include contracting the valve leaflets in the open position, thickening the muscle below the pulmonary valve, or narrowing the pulmonary artery above the valve. However, the primary cause associated with PS is a valve restriction, known as valvar pulmonary stenosis.

There are three flexible and thin valve leaflets in standard pulmonary valves. Typically, disease related to the pulmonary valve can cause server heart issues that build up before birth. In adults, pulmonary valve stenosis can develop over time and cause complications.
