He is one of the first surgeons in North India to conduct laparoscopic cholecystectomy and one of the first in the Asia Pacific region to do MAFT, Minimal Access, Metabolic, and Bariatric Surgery have been the focus of his professional life, and he has dedicated his time and energy to the development, evaluation, and dissemination of these procedures in India as well as the Asian subcontinent.
His Center at Max Healthcare was first in India to be accredited as a Center of Excellence for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Hernia Surgery, and Vascular Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation in the United States (2011-2014)
Because of his extensive surgical experience, he was listed in the Guinness World records in 1997 and the Limca Book of Records in 2000 – 2020 (for a period of twenty years) as the first Endoscopic surgeon to execute the greatest number of minimally access procedures.
Over the course of his career, he has published more than 300 unique scientific papers in worldwide and national indexed journals, as well as chapters in numerous text and reference books, including those published by major publishers such as Springer, Jaypee, and Elsevier.
