The full form of GSC in Medical is Glasgow Coma Scale. It is a clinical scale that is used for measuring the level of consciousness after a serious brain injury. The patient is assessed on the sensory inputs of vision, speech and movement. Based on the input, the patient is scored between 3 and 15.  The lower the score, the higher the chances of death.

What Else Should You Know About GSC?

The scoring on the Glasgow Coma Scale is a combined result of the three tests mentioned above. The test will differ depending on the patient. For children below two years, the scoring methodology differs from those used for patients over this age. A score of less than nine on the Glasgow Coma Scale is considered severe. The moderate range is between 9 and 12. Anything over 12 is considered to be minor.
