What Is The Full Form Of FAMS In Medical?

FAMS full form in medical term is fatigued athlete myopathic syndrome. The condition suggests that the athlete has evidence of chronic fatigue and muscle abnormalities. Being in a state of exhaustion means having low carbohydrates or low energy. Fatigue can also be caused by poor nutrition timing. Skipping lunch or breakfast and only having a nutrition bar doesn’t provide an athlete with enough energy to last the day.

Other causes of FAMS in an athlete include overtraining, racing and endurance training, a sharp decline in performance unrelated to normal aging, and an inability to tolerate or adapt to exercise training loads previously accustomed to.
